SUMMARY:ALL THAT JAZZ! A Fundraiser For The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts
DESCRIPTION:You could call it the ultimate Philadelphia musical duet – two legendary icons in the history of the city’s jazz scene are partnering to benefit the future of young artists and to help keep this genre alive. Chris’ Jazz Café\, the longest continuously operating jazz club in the city\, will host an unprecedented musical fundraiser on Thursday\, January 13 from 7 to 11 p.m. to benefit the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts (PCC). The fundraiser\, in the form of a live and livestreamed show\, will showcase alumni of the Clef Club who have become musical luminaries and internationally acclaimed artists in their field. 100% of funds raised will be donated to the Clef Club to help its mission of preserving the legacy of jazz through accessible education.  \n“The Clef Club is such an integral part of Philadelphia’s jazz community. They’re nurturing the young talent that keeps the music alive\, plus many of their students eventually make their way to our stage. We feel that it is one of the most important ways that we can contribute to this ongoing process of keeping jazz relevant in Philadelphia\,” said Mark DeNinno\, Chef/Owner\, Chris’ Jazz Café. \n7-11pm ~ $25 donation both live and livestreamed ~100% funds raised will go to the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts \nPhiladelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts’ Artist List for Chris’ Jazz Café Fundraiser \nArtists Instrument\nImmanuel Wilkins (Saxophone)\nJaleel Shaw (Saxophone)\nDaud El Bakara (Trumpet)\nMicha Graves (Piano)\nKyree Rasheed (Drums)\nOrrin Evans (Piano)\nBobby Zankel / Clef Club Ensemble\nAiden McKeon (Saxophone)\nLeo Steinride (Guitar)\nJoe Block (Piano)\nDylan Band (Saxophone)\nMonnette Sudler (Guitar)\nNazir Ebo (Drums)\nMarcelle Bellinger (Trumpet)\nBen Foster (Guitar)\nJustin Faulkner (Drums)\nSherry Butler (vocals)\nRichard Hill (Bass)\nArnetta Johnson (Trumpet)\nMichael Sperman (Trumpet)\nNasir Dickerson (Saxophone)\nBrent White (Trombone)\nJordan Williams (Piano)\nAlonzo Demetrius (Trumpet) \nYou make donate directly to the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz by clicking HERE. \n*** Effective Monday August 16th\, in compliance with the City of Philadelphia’s option for COVID-19 restrictions\, Chris’ Jazz Cafe has made the decision to require ALL patrons to provide proof of full vaccination\, with a corresponding Photo ID. SUMMARY:*POSTPONED* Philadelphia Clef Club Community Big Band
DESCRIPTION:In consideration of the safety of our staff\, performers and patrons\, the Community Big Band concert scheduled Saturday January 15\, 2022 has been postponed until further notice. The Philadelphia Clef of Jazz & Performing Arts has been relatively unscathed by the scourge of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are working hard to keep it that way. Although the doors to our facility have been closed the past two years\, the music hasn’t stopped. We have continued with online music instruction and the Virtual Masterclass Series. Our intent is to expand our online presence. Although we are disappointed that the inaugural concert of the 2022 PNC Arts Alive Jazz Cultural Voices Concert Series has been postponed\, we are committed to making sure that the music can’t stop. We are waiting out this pandemic so that we can present live jazz again when it is safe. In the interim we are focused on the renovation of our facility\, increasing our online music education offerings and enhancing our virtual presence. After all\, “The Music Can’t Stop!” …..and because of you it won’t. \n  \nTickets purchased for this concert on our website will be refunded automatically. Please check your credit card statements for confirmation. If you would like to support the renovation of the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts facility please visit the “Make a Gift” page on the website. Thank you in advance and stay safe. \n  \n  \nSincerely\,\nThe Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts \nDr. Ken Scott\, President\, Board of Directors\nLovett Hines\, Artistic Director
