SUMMARY:Fall 2021 PCC Master Class Series featuring Oliver Lake
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW! https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_16QJxXJaRR-bGH1FZi_6oA \nFall 2021 PCC Master Class Series featuring Oliver Lake \nA trailblazer through and through\, Oliver Lake is a world-renowned saxophonist\, composer\, painter\, and poet whose half-century-long career is unparalleled. A co-founder of the internationally acclaimed World Saxophone Quartet\, Oliver firmly established himself in the Loft-jazz era yet avoided trappings of being labeled “avant-garde.” The breadth of his resume includes works with the Brooklyn Philharmonic\, Flux String Quartet\, Bjork\, Lou Reed\, A Tribe Called Quest\, Mos Def\, Meshell Ndegeocello\, Anthony Braxton\, James Blood Ulmer\, William Parker\, Vijay Iyer\, and Reggie Workman. Oliver’s efforts extend far beyond the music\, with his creation of the non-profit Passin’ Thru organization\, becoming a mainstay at Pittsburgh’s City of Asylum\, publishing two books of poetry\, and frequently producing visual artwork for exhibitions across the country. In 2014\, Oliver was honored with the prestigious Doris Duke Artist Award\, a multi-year grant awarded to American artists in the fields of jazz\, theater\, and dance. \nThe Philadelphia Clef of Jazz & Performing Arts has received this very prestigious grant award.  Just over 30 organizations in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region were selected for bold thinking around increasing arts access and engagement and “Jazz Cultural Voices” was one. \nREGISTER NOW! https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_16QJxXJaRR-bGH1FZi_6oA \n“Through PNC Arts Alive\, we continue to help invigorate local arts organizations while bringing new and exciting programs to our community\,” said Joe Meterchick\, PNC regional president for Philadelphia\, Delaware and Southern New Jersey.  “The creativity and collaboration demonstrated by the local arts community is evident in the programs that will be introduced\, while enabling new visitors and residents alike to experience a diverse range of exhibits and performances.” \nFor more information on PNC Arts Alive and the grant recipients visit www.PNCARTSALIVE.com \n
