DESCRIPTION:The Philadelphia Clef Club Jazz Awards recognizes Philadelphia musicians and performing artists through a nomination and selection process made available to the general public. Each year\, the public is invited to nominate the musicians(s) it feels “best represent the ideal musicians who have made significant contributions to the legacy of jazz in the city of Philadelphia.” \nThe 2016 Living Legends are Mickey Roker and Gerald Veasley and the Distinguished Honorees are Charon Battles and Bob Perkins. \nThe 2-Day festivities kicks-off on Friday\, November 11 @ 6pm with a VIP Blue Carpet Reception\, Dinner\, and Show. \nSaturday\, November 12 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm guests can take part in a Round Table discussion addressing “The Educational Fortitude & Artistic Progression of Jazz: An Intergenerational Concept\,” This event will pay homage to tri-state area music educators who have demonstrated continued professionalism\, and unyielding dedication as an educator to their individual art form and/or their students.
