The documentary, Arrows into Infinity looks closely into the life of Charles Lloyd, American jazz musician, pioneering in the tenor saxophone and flue. The film is Co-directed and produced by Lloyd’s wife Dorothy Darr and portrays the intimacy that is the result of their relationship and her deep knowledge and understanding of this legendary musician. The documentary chronicles, Lloyd’s upbringing in Memphis, Tennessee to his retreat from the limelight in the early ‘70s and 80s and to his return in the late ‘80s. Since then, he has led a succession of great bands including his recent quartet with Jason Moran, Reuben Rogers, and Eric Harland, and the Sangam trio formed with Eric Harland and Zakir Hussain. The film also features interviews about Charles Lloyd from the musicians mentioned above along with master musicians including Herbie Hancock, Ornette Coleman, Robbie Robertson, and Jack DeJohnette.
